The Mathematics Department at Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is located on the second floor of the 7000 Building. Our instructors are caring and dedicated to providing innovative, quality, and engaging instruction in undergraduate mathematics. It is also known for its professionalism and exceptional qualifications. Classes are small and offer many opportunities for individualized attention. Faculty members hold office hours, and students are encouraged to meet with their instructors outside of class for extra help or explanation. It is, in fact, our belief that the FDTC Mathematics Department is a place where students can receive a valuable and rewarding mathematics education.
The first floor of the 7000 Building houses the FDTC Math Hub. This state-of-the-art facility is the centerpiece of the Mathematics Department and is designed to promote
the success of developmental and curriculum math students. The Math Hub is where students take classes, receive tutoring, take tests, meet with a study group, use specialized
mathematics instructional software, and/or seek out assistance from other students and/or faculty.
TECHNICAL MATH COMPETITION
Each year since 1997, the Math department has sponsored a technical Mathematics competition for public and private area high schools. This competition is different from others in that it promotes the team concept and emphasizes authentic workplace problems. Visit our Math Competition page for more information.
